THE FURY OF FIRESTORM THE NUCLEAR MAN Annual N°2 (1984)

Sometimes, you really wish some editors would go beyond the rules to propose something unusual.... and sometimes, you really wished they would not have try it!
This annual of Firestorm is an experience: in place of bubbles and a text inserted into panels, you have a very long prose novel illustrated by 1 to 3 panels per page. I really wonder who would make the effort to read the entire thing.... and, despite the presence of Ernie as an inker on this (you can see the Ernie touch on Superman face down here)... the drawings don't really make it worth your money.
It seems that Ernie wasn't probably there on all the panels, and I would bet that somebody is missing from the credits: can you also see on several places the style of Pat Broderick?
This comics is an oddity, nothing more.....

DC published THE FURY OF FIRESTORM THE NUCLEAR MAN Annual 2
Arthur BYRON COVER & Gerry CONWAY wrote it (41p)
Rafael KAYANAN pencilled it and its cover

Gene D'ANGELO colored it
and...
Ernie COLON inked it

  1. I remember reading it on a long car ride when it came out, and I thought it was the greatest idea I'd seen in ages.

  2. Well, I could be wrong. I haven't read it. English being my second language doesn't help I suppose. Glad you liked it!
