AIRBOY N°46 (January 1989)

This serie is one of the latest ongoing job of Ernie, and the only one he ever did for Eclipse (there is a sad end to his collaboration with this editor, more on that later). Ernie seems the perfect choice to take over the art duties of this revival of the Golden Age Airboy series.

To keep a classical approach, yet to do something modernly appealing means working under certain boundaries, whithout showing it. With a Chuck Dixon at his best (never before has his stories carry so much emotion) and one of the best (and suited) job done by Ernie, Ernie's run of this serie is a must have, whenever you like planes or the original serie ever (I disliked both and fell in love with this). Look at this credit page and dare say to me you doubt me:

ECLIPSE published AIRBOY 46
Chuck DIXON wrote "the Diary" (18p)
Reuben DUDE & Mel JOHNSON colored it
Catherine YRONWODE edited it
and...
Ernie COLON lettered it and  drew it and its cover!
