Following the success of the Legionnaires Three mini-serie Ernie pencilled 1 year before, and the overall sucess of the Legion of Super-Heroes titles back then, DC was probably more than happy to be back at it with this mini-serie builded on a similar ground. Except that here we have here 2 legionnaires instead of one (Cosmic Boy and Night Girl) and that the playground is Earth.... in our current time!
That leaves Ernie with the scarce occasion to draw those characters in a casual environement. This scene on top is really enjoyable and make the reader feels closer to our two "lost in time" heroes.
