ULTRAMAN Ltd N°1 (July 1993)

It isn't a well known fact but Ernie worked on Ultraman, a serie published by Ultracomics, a division of Harvey, but who will later be published under the Nemesis label, a future division of Harvey featuring super-heroic characters.

Ultraman will be the last ongoing serie by Ernie. At the moment, it's only a 3 issues limited serie, but it will continue with an ongoing, still with Ernie as a penciller.

If you don't know Ultraman....well don't count on me to fill this gasp...just go read Wikipedia or something. Ultraman is a big thing in Japan and, surprisingly, you don't need to know or love the character it's based on to appreciate with unusual serie. 

Unusual because of its tone or his over-the-top vilain (Gudis, who begged to be pencilled by Ernie), and a kind of second degree mixed with good old suspense, making you beg you would not have to wait one month to read what will follow.

Ernie's art on this firt issue is superb, Alfredo Alcala rich and detailed inks are a perfect match for this serie. This a high point and a must have in Ernie's career!
